About Ferviddy
Ferviddy is a digital-first business publication covering the people, money, and ideas shaping Ghana's new economy.
We publish daily briefings, deep-dive features, data trackers, and sector intelligence. We are also launching CrossTalk, a filmed executive panel show.
We need someone who can take everything we produce and make sure the right people see it.
The Role
You are the reason people find Ferviddy. Every article we publish, every data tracker we update, every video episode we film — none of it matters if it does not reach the audience. You own distribution across every channel: X (Twitter), LinkedIn, WhatsApp Channels, Instagram, the newsletter, and podcast platforms.
This is not a "post and schedule" job. You will write social-native copy that works differently on each platform. You will cut video clips from our video episodes. You will manage community engagement when readers respond, correct us, or share our work.
You will track what performs and adjust. You are half writer, half editor, half analyst — and the audience growth is your metric.
What you’ll do
- 1-3 years managing social media for a media brand, newsroom, agency, or corporate communications team. Personal influencer experience alone does not qualify — you need to have grown an institutional account
- Strong writing skills. Social copy is writing. You will write 15-20 pieces of short-form copy per day. They need to be sharp, accurate, and platform-appropriate
- Basic video editing skills. You can take a 45-minute video file and produce a clean 60-second clip with captions, lower thirds, and a hook in the first 3 seconds. Tools: CapCut, Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, or equivalent
- Familiarity with social analytics. You can read a performance report and explain what it means
- Understanding of Ghana's business and tech media landscape. You know who the accounts are that share, comment, and engage with business content on X and LinkedIn in Ghana
- Experience with newsletter platforms (Listmonk, Mailchimp, Substack, or similar) is a strong plus
- Graphic design basics — you can create a clean social card in Canva when needed. You are not a designer, but you can make something that does not look amateur
- Comfort working fast. News breaks at unpredictable times. You need to be able to draft a social post, get editorial approval, and publish within 30 minutes
What you’ll bring
- Turn every published article into 3-5 platform-specific social posts. An X thread is not a LinkedIn post is not a WhatsApp broadcast. You know the difference and you write for each
- Manage the daily posting schedule across all channels — X, LinkedIn, WhatsApp Channel, and Instagram
- Write social headlines and hooks that drive clicks to our web platform.
- Cut 5-8 short video clips (30-90 seconds) from each video episode for social distribution using CapCut, Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, or equivalent
- Format, schedule, and send the newsletter. Manage list hygiene, monitor open rates, and test subject lines
- Distribute show episodes to YouTube, Spotify, Apple Podcasts, and the website
- Monitor and respond to community engagement — comments, corrections, shares, DMs. When a reader catches an error you are the first to flag it to editorial
- Track engagement metrics weekly: impressions, clicks, follower growth, newsletter opens, podcast downloads. Report what is working and what is not
- Coordinate with the reporter on breaking stories that need fast social push
- Build and maintain a content calendar that aligns social output with our editorial calendar, data release dates, and episode schedule
