What's IRIS?

IRIS is the AI built into PRISM. Think of it as a capable colleague who knows your organisation's policies, remembers your leave balance, and can actually do things for you — not just talk about them.

This page explains what IRIS can do, what it can't, and how we handle your data. No jargon, no fine print buried in paragraphs. Just the facts.

The Four Parts of IRIS

IRIS does different things in different ways. Here's how it's organised:

Ask questions, get answers. "What's my leave balance?" "Who's on leave today?" "What's the policy on remote work?"

What IRIS Can Do

Ask Questions

IRIS knows about your organisation. Ask in plain language:

  • "How many days leave do I have left?"
  • "Who do I report to?"
  • "What's the policy on sick leave?"
  • "Show me pending approvals"

IRIS remembers context within a conversation. If you ask about your leave balance and then say "book two days next week", it knows what you mean.

IRIS always asks before doing

For anything important, IRIS shows you exactly what it's about to do and waits for your confirmation. You stay in control.

Where IRIS Stops

IRIS is helpful, but it has boundaries. Here's where to draw the line:

Not a replacement for HR. IRIS gives guidance. For binding decisions — disciplinary matters, contract questions, legal stuff — your HR team has the final say.

Sometimes wrong. AI makes mistakes. If IRIS tells you something that affects your pay, your leave, or your job — double-check with a human.

Only as good as its knowledge. If your company hasn't uploaded a policy document, IRIS can't read minds. It'll work with what it has.

No professional advice. Legal questions? Medical concerns? Financial planning? Talk to the right people. IRIS isn't qualified.

Trust your instincts

If an answer feels off, it probably is. Check with HR or look up the original policy. IRIS won't be offended.

Your Data

Here's how we handle your information:

  • Conversations are private to your organisation. We use multi-tenant isolation — your chats and documents never mix with other companies.
  • We don't train AI on your data. Your conversations stay yours. We don't use them to improve AI models.
  • Queries go through AI providers. We use Google Gemini, DeepSeek, and OpenAI to process requests. Your data passes through their systems — don't share passwords or sensitive personal details.
  • Actions are logged. Everything IRIS does on your behalf is recorded. Good for compliance, good for peace of mind.

Usage Limits

IRIS usage is measured in tokens — basically, the amount of text processed. Each plan includes a monthly allowance:
